Genesis may only be a 3-year-old brand, but it is already making big waves. This year Genesis once again ranked highest in the 2019 J.D. Power quality scorecard, scoring 63 problems reported per 100 vehicles, an improvement from its 2018 score of 68 problems per 100 vehicles.

This ranking is a remarkable accomplishment for Genesis considering more brands dropped this year instead of improving in ranking  in the heavily monitored Initial Quality Study released June 19, 2019, at the Automotive Press Association.

The 2019 Initial Quality Study is determined by the results of a 233 question survey across eight vehicle categories and is completed by 76,256 buyers and lessees of new 2019 models. Dave Sargent, the vice president of global automotive at J.D. Power, said there are several underlying reasons for Genesis' consecutive reign, including its user-friendly technology that is easy for consumers to operate and understand.

According to Sargent, Korean brands like Genesis are adept at "understanding exactly what consumers want in their vehicles and delivering just that."
